The Simplex Auto is an automatic pressure relief mattress for home care, designed for people who spend long periods in bed and need additional protection from pressure sores.
It automatically detects the user’s weight and body shape and adjusts the mattress pressure accordingly, helping provide consistent pressure relief without complicated manual settings.

The Simplex Auto is rated Very High Risk on the Waterlow scale, the same rating as mattresses costing three times as much. The difference is in the extras, it runs a fixed 10-minute alternating cycle rather than an adjustable one, and it does not turn the user. For most people being cared for at home it is the right starting point.
It is 200cm by 86cm and 17cm deep, which fits a standard single hospital or profiling bed. The pump plugs into an ordinary socket, 220–240V, 2 amp and hangs on the bed end. No special wiring.
Yes. The page specifies a multi-stretch, waterproof polyurethane cover designed to reduce shear and friction against the skin. Every mattress in this range has a waterproof cover, the BariFloat uses a breathable four-way-stretch Dartex cover instead. A waterproof cover can be wiped down, but always follow the cleaning instructions supplied with the mattress rather than using a bleach-based cleaner.
