Should you rent or buy?

Rent when the need is temporary or uncertain. If someone is coming home after an operation and may be mobile again within weeks, renting makes sense. You pay only for the time the equipment is actually needed.

Buy when the need is permanent. Rental costs more over the long term. If it is clear that someone will need a hospital bed or hoist for years, buying outright is almost always the better financial decision. We will tell you honestly which makes more sense for your situation. We sell the same equipment we rent.

Renting first is a reasonable way to find out whether a piece of equipment actually suits the person before committing. Not every bed or mattress is right for every person. Trying before buying removes the risk of an expensive mistake.

VAT relief on aids and appliances

Revenue operates a scheme that refunds VAT on aids and appliances purchased for a person with a disability or illness. You apply using form VAT 61A. The scheme covers a wide range of medical equipment, including beds, hoists, pressure mattresses and more.

You can find full details and apply through the Revenue website.

Not sure what you need? Ring us.

Most people ringing about rental are arranging care at short notice and are not sure which piece of equipment is right. A real person will talk it through with you. No one will be sold something they do not need.

Yes. We deliver, install, and collect all rental equipment at home across the Republic of Ireland. Hospital beds are our most commonly rented item and we are used to arranging this at short notice.

Delivery times depend on your location and what is in stock. Call us and we will tell you honestly what we can manage. Our typical lead time — e.g. next-day, 24–48 hrs.

We can typically arrange a minimum rental period of 7 to 14 days for private sector, depending on the equipment required. After the minimum hire period, the rental can continue on a week-to-week basis, giving you the flexibility to return the equipment when it is no longer needed. There is no requirement to commit to a long-term rental contract.

We deliver and install. Our team brings the equipment to the house, sets it up in the room, and takes it away when the rental ends. You do not need to collect or return anything.

Call us and we will arrange a repair or replacement as quickly as we can. Equipment fault is covered by us; accidental damage by the customer may be treated differently.
